At ASRS LTD, we specialize in window repair bay services, offering effective structural repair solutions for residential and commercial properties. With offices across London, Devon, Somerset, Bristol, Worcester, and Cardiff, our expert teams deliver high-quality, non-disruptive repairs tailored to your needs.

Bay windows, often found in Georgian, Victorian, and Edwardian homes, are prone to cracking due to their original construction methods. Many were built later in the construction process, sometimes with less stable foundations, leading to differential movement. This can cause bay windows to shift while the main structure stays stable.

Our experienced team of professionals at ASRS LTD are experts in structural repair, especially for bay windows. We handle everything from diagnosing the issue to providing a detailed repair specification and completing the work with the utmost precision. We ensure your bay windows are reinforced and restored to their original integrity, preventing further damage.

For reliable, cost-effective solutions that extend the life of your property, contact ASRS LTD today for a consultation. Let us help you restore and reinforce your bay windows with expert care and high-quality repairs.

Choose the Best Repair Services for Lateral Restraint - Bowed Walls

ASRS uses lateral restraint ties to secure masonry to floor or ceiling joists, ensuring both are firmly connected. A hole is drilled in the masonry at the same level as the timber joists. The restraint tie has a drill bit-shaped leading edge, allowing it to cut into two or more joists as it's inserted. The masonry end is then fixed in place with resin, creating a strong bond. The hole in the masonry is filled with a color-matched mortar to make the repair seamless. Additional structural repair methods, like crack stitching and bed joint reinforcement, may also be necessary to fix cracks or stabilize the masonry.

We provide free site visits for both residential and commercial clients to evaluate the issue and recommend a customized repair plan tailored to the unique requirements of the project. Contact us today to learn more about the benefits of our services for lateral restraint tie bars for bowed walls.

Experience the High Grade Helifix Repair Services from ASRS Ltd

Cracks in walls, around windows and doors, stepped cracks in brickwork, and other structural issues can occur for various reasons and often cause concern for property owners or tenants.

Cracks in masonry are commonly caused by factors like ground movement, subsidence, heave, environmental conditions (such as freeze/thaw cycles), increased loads or stress, replacement of doors or windows, drain failures, and the addition or removal of large vegetation. ASRS Ltd are helifix crack repair specialists, expertly diagnosing the cause of these cracks and designing effective solutions.

As certified installers of Helifix Masonry Repair Systems, we provide Helifix insurance-backed guarantees for most projects. Additionally, we offer expert advice, free site visits, and tailored structural programs. When masonry has cracked or failed, the Helifix Helibeam System offers horizontal bed-joint reinforcement, eliminating the need for demolition and rebuilding. This system utilizes high-tensile stainless steel helical bars combined with cementitious, thixotropic grout to securely bond the bars to the masonry.

Bed joint reinforcement, also known as masonry beaming, ties the masonry together to form deep beams that help redistribute structural loads. Additional helical ties and fixings can be added as needed for crack stitching and to provide lateral and vertical restraint, completing the system. This approach is suitable for all masonry types, including brick, block, and stone structures. The Helibeam System provides a structurally sound, cost-effective alternative to underpinning and other traditional repair methods, with much less disruption and stress. It minimizes impact on the ground, building, and occupants, and after repointing and finishing, the building remains virtually unmarked.

ASRS Ltd is an approved installer of the Helibeam System, providing cost-effective, non-intrusive, and discreet solutions for all aspects of remedial masonry stabilization. We have received amazing reviews from all our valued customers who only choose us.  Don't wait, connect with our experts today to enjoy the great benefits of our services.

Prevent Cracks with Expertly Installed Movement Joints

Movement joints, also known as expansion joints, are essential vertical breaks in masonry that allow for natural movement. These joints help prevent cracks and distortion in brickwork due to the shifting and settling over time. Typically, movement joints should be placed every 6 to 12m, depending on the wall's construction materials—6m for lightweight concrete blocks and up to 12m for clay bricks.

Creating Effective Movement Joints

Installing movement joints requires a detailed survey to determine their precise location. Key factors include the position of windows, doors, and wall construction. Once identified, vertical cuts are made through the outer wall, and a foam backing cord is inserted. Remedial wall ties are installed on both sides of the joint, using a grid pattern to ensure stability.

To optimise flexibility, horizontal cuts are made into the bed joints, allowing stainless-steel helical bars to be inserted. One side of the bar is bonded to the masonry, while the other is placed in a plastic sleeve, allowing for lateral movement. This alternating pattern ensures maximum performance. Finally, the vertical joint is filled with flexible mastic material, and repairs are seamlessly blended to match the original masonry.

Based in Bristol, ASRS proudly offers expert movement joint installation services across the region.
